King Renly’s alliance to House Tyrell through marriages to the Lady Margacry has given him access to the famed Riders of teh Highgarden. Although not as heavily armoured as most heavy calvary, the famed Riders of the Highgarden can mount a devastating charge, and hold the line in a melee when necessary. Even when pinned down and surrounded, thier perseverance and valor lets the hold out for succor longer than most other cavalry. That said a melee is not an optimal position for unit that excels in charges powerful enough to break even a vanguard.
